VACANCY CIRCULAR

The Rehabilitation Council of India, a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, invites applications for the following posts to be recruited on contract basis under Out Reach Division (Self Sustainable Division).  The candidates once engaged will not confer any right or privilege to get permanent employment under the Council.

 Term of the Post :  6 months  further extendable depend on the project tenure.

 1.         Senior Programme Officer/Project Director     -           1 Post

            Remuneration                                                    -           Rs. 25,000/- (consolidated)

Education Qualification :

Essential: (i) M.Ed. Special Education or Master's Degree in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (ii) Minimum five years experience in the area of Special Education/Social Work/Rehabilitation. (iii) Must be computer savvy (iv) Must be eligible to register with RCI

Desirable : (i) Having Ph.D. in Special Education or Ph.D. in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (ii) Experience of distance education system (iii) The experience of live interaction or handling the studio channel will be preferred.

Age Limit : 40 Years

2.         Programme Officer                  -           2 Posts

            Remuneration                            -           Rs. 20,000/- (consolidated)

Education Qualification :

Essential: (i) M.Ed. Special Education or Master's Degree in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (ii) Minimum five years experience in the area of Special Education/Social Work/Rehabilitation. (iii) Must be computer savvy (iv) Must be eligible for registration with RCI.

Desirable : (i) Having Ph.D./M.Phil. in Special Education or Ph.D./M.Phil. in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (ii) Experience of distance education system (iii) The experience of live interaction or handling the studio channel will be preferred.

Age Limit : 40 Years

3.         Research Officer                      -           4 Posts

            Remuneration                            -           Rs. 20,000/- (consolidated)

Education Qualification :

Essential: (i) Post Graduate in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology/Special Education/Clinical Psychology etc. or Master in Business Administration / Master in Information Technology / Master in Mass Communication.

Desirable : (i) Having Ph.D./M.Phil. in Special Education or Ph.D./M.Phil. in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (ii) Experience of drafting study/survey reports (iii) Promoting Websites etc.

General Conditions :

Interview for the eligible candidates for the post of Research Officer will be held on 6.1.2009 and Senior Programme Officer & Programme Officer will be held on 12.1.2009 in the RCI House at 11:00 A.M. List of eligible candidates will be available at RCI Website on 2.1.2009 onwards.

1.         Deputy Controller of Examination                   -           1 Post

            Remuneration                                                    -           Rs. 25,000/- (consolidated)

Education Qualification :

Essential: (i) Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation / Social Work / Psychology / Special Education/Clinical Psychology/Speech & Hearing from recognized University or equivalent (ii) Must be computer savvy.

Desirable : (i) Five years experience of conducting examination work of University / College level / selection board/SSC/PSC/UPSC etc. (ii) Having Master's Degree in Special Education or Master's Degree in Rehabilitation/Social Science/Social Work/Psychology etc. (iii) Experience of work in planning of development and standardization of the on-line examination system (iv) Experience in data handling in computer network.

Age Limit : 40 Years

Retired Employees/Officers of Govt. of India / State Govt. / Autonomous Bodies / Statutory Bodies / Universities / Selection Commission / Selection Board etc. may also apply, if otherwise eligible.  The said age limit will not be applicable in their case.
